The problem is, and this is gonna sound silly, but there's only one USB-C port on the right side of the MacBook Pro and my cable isn't long enough to reach the ports on the left side. Then, when I want to use the MacBook Pro, switch the hub to one of the USB-C ports and the monitor to another USB-C pro.

just use one of my Mac Studio's front-facing USB-C ports for the hub and the other front-facing USB-C port for the monitor. So the solution is what you see in that photo. Connecting it to this particular hub and then switching the hub from one machine to the other wasn't doing it. Meaning, I seem to only be able to get the Studio monitor to work if it's directly connected to a USB-C port on the Mac Studio or MacBook Pro. 2, that USB-C port on it doesn't seem to work as a pass-through for my monitor. 1, it seems that work-issued hub sort of sucks and when it's running too many USB devices at once, some start working. Lastly, I'd use that lightning cable to briefly connect my magic keyboard and magic mouse so that they'd start working for that machine.Īlmost everything worked, but I ran into a couple challenges. Then when I want to use my work computer, I just switch the hub to my MacBook Pro and I'd be able to quickly access my mic, cam, headphones and Studio Monitor.

Then the idea is, when I'm using my personal computer, I can just plug the hub into one of the Mac Studio's front-facing USB-C ports and quickly gain access to the mic, cam, headphones and Studio monitor for that machine. and use the USB-C port for my Studio Monitor. So my thinking was that I could use that little hub to connect my headphones, use the 3 traditional USB ports for a couple devices I use (Mic, 4k webcam) + a USB-lightning cable. In the middle of I have a work-issued USB hub that has some traditional USB ports, a headphone jack, and a single USB-C. On the left is my work-issued MacBook Pro. On the right is my personal machine, a Mac Studio with a Studio Monitor.
